Gráinne (Pronounced: Grawn-ya)
This is one of our darker roasts to warm us up with tastes of rich chocolate and caramel together with a hint of cooked blackcurrant. This dark and rich single origin coffee comes from a small farm in the Narino region of South West Colombia. We trialed this with a small batch roast over Christmas last year and it seems you loved it as much as we did. In fact this coffee won the Gold Medal at the 2021 Irish Food Awards as best single origin coffee.
Gráinne is one of the central figures in the Middle Irish text Finn and Gráinne and, most famously, in the 17th-century tale The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Gráinne, which tells of her betrothal to Fionn mac Cumhaill, leader of the Fianna, and her subsequent elopement with Fionn's warrior Diarmuid Ua Duibhne
